This is the first in a series of wherigos I'm building. They will be built around areas where I hike (in the mountains) or where I walk (around town). Some will be tour-like where you get some historical or other interesting information as you go through the cartridge. Others will simply get you from point A to point B.
Welcome to WhereIHike #1- The Y!
Over the course of this wherigo, you will hike over a mile and gain over 1000 feet of elevation. The hike is moderately strenuous for most people, but the trail is wide and well-maintained which makes it suitable for just about any hiker. You will stay on the trail the entire time except to find the container at the end.
It takes anywhere from 30-60 minutes for the average person to reach the top of the Y.
Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks. You'll need them! There is very little shade along the trail, so make sure you've got a good hat and some sunscreen. The wind can also pick up, so even in warm weather in the valley you may need a jacket at the top.
