In 2012, I hosted the event Magical Boxes, where we learned that I have an alter ego called Sindy http://coord.info/GC3J0W3
In 2013, it was at the event Magical Boxes 2: Abracacheabra, where we discovered that Stevo185 longs to be a Las Vegas Showgirl http://coord.info/GC4D9XK
In 2014, I rigged a First To Find draw for Magical Boxes 3: and NOW you see it, and Walk on the Wildside won a free engagement ring http://coord.info/GC513G9
Who knows what will happen this year? Well, why not come along and find out!
The first part of the event is for all us geocachers to do what we do best when we get together indoors – have a chat with a glass of our favourite beverage in hand! Swap tales, trade travel bugs, give suggestions for caches to try out, you know the sort of thing.
After that, feel free to stick around for the second part - a free (family friendly) magic show!
This is how the evening will spin out (times are approximate)
The doors open at 6pm; we will be in the bar area. Time for a spot of general caching chit-chat, anecdotes and travel bug swapping. All being well, we’ll have the editor of UK Cache Mag along (who has the rather appropriately caching name of ukcachemag) to gather some of your tales for his publication too.
At 7.45pm, those who want to watch a family-friendly magic show will move into the function room.
At 8pm, the magic show starts. If you'd rather stay in the bar area and geochat, that is absolutely fine! The magic show is optional and you don't have to go to the show if you don't want to.
At 9pm we will have a short break for a light buffet
At 9.30 the final act of the evening will be on.
10pm Event concludes.
Now, how much does this cost? Absolutely nothing. Zilch. Nada. Not a penny. It's free. Buffet is free too. If you can provide something for the buffet, that would be fantastic (but this is not compulsory)
You do have to buy your own drinks though (sorry!)
To "qualify" for attending this event, you have to have been in the building long enough to sign the log book. But if you forget to sign it, I’m not going to quibble
The only things I ask you about the evening is that if you arrive late and the magic acts are on, you wait for a convenient break in the performance before you come in. Also, if you would rather chat than watch the magic show you do this in the bar area. This is only out of respect for the performers.
Please let me know if you are coming to the magic show part of the evening... I need to know how many sausage rolls to buy!
