This 1820 farmhouse is a rare structure in Henrico County and has an interesting history behind it. The home once belonged to a Confederate cavalry soldier and was moved from where it originally stood along Creighton Rd, not very far away. The property was used as an encampment during the Seven Day’s Battle in 1862. The soldiers consumed the farm’s produce and used timber from the property to build a hospital, cabins and fortifications. The owner submitted a claim of $1,102.00 to the Confederate government for damages the same year.
