The Void Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

SmokingGnu: Confirmed it's been muggled. No trace remains, so I blame the humanoids not the four legged winter scavengers. I lost a few TBs in the deal, too. Why do people do that?!

Geocache Description:

Welcome to The Void!

You are looking for a feed container filled with swag. Please note the cache may be easily accessed by unscrewing the lid. It should not have to be removed from the little "cave" in which it's been wedged.  This cache is dedicated to the fouder of The Void, who has made a tremendous impact on the lives of many, and continues to be an inspiration to me.  I'm thankful every day that he is such a big part of my own journey.

This segment of the Fox River Bike Trail in South Elgin was christened “The Void” in August of 2011 by a taekwondo instructor and exercise enthusiast who was looking for a way to train for the Chicago Marathon and also to motivate others to pursue a healthy lifestyle through physical fitness. Since its inception, The Void has been an escape from conventional gym workouts with stereotypical personal trainers. It is composed of the physical location, along the Fox, as well as an online community of people with the same goal: to help motivate and encourage each other to have a strong mind and a healthy body. To give back and pay it forward. To lead by example. It gives every member the opportunity to push themselves to the best of their ability, without fear of judgment or discrimination, and with the benefit of encouragement and constructive assessment along the way.

The Void is a place to find inspiration. Not just a work out, but a lifestyle. You don’t have to be an extreme athlete or a fitness guru to participate. The only requirement is a positive attitude and a willingness to help others along their journey. Whether you are in training or just wishing to take control and pursue a more active healthy lifestyle, The Void is a place to congregate and learn without cost or agenda.

The Void proper begins at the parking coordinates: N 41° 59.699 W 088° 17.737, and ends at the top of the hill where you will find access to ground zero. Follow the bike path along the Fox River to enjoy a scenic walk, run, or bike ride to the cache. Or visit www.facebook.com/thevoid.lifestyle for updates on when members will be coming for group exercise, if you would like to combine geocaching with a Void workout!

The parking coordinates have been provided to allow you to experience The Void to the fullest! However, there is parking available closer to the cache if you are not interested in the pleasant 4 mile round trip stroll/run/bike along the Fox and just want to cache. Alternate parking may be found at: N 41° 57.851 W 088° 18.090. Of course, the Fox River Bike Trail extends for miles around The Void, from Algonquin to Aurora, so feel free to continue to explore the great beyond. Scenic trails and nature preserves, picturesque fishing holes, boat launches for kayaking and canoeing, and plenty of additional geocaches await. Happy Caching!
