KELLY PARK CACHE 1 Location: Main entrance is a private drive off of Prospect Street, right next to what used to be Prospect Elementary School, & is now privately owned. It is a beautiful old building to see. Kelley Park is named after Joe M. Kelley, the first Director of Salem's parks system. Mr. Kelley served the system from 1924 until his death in 1951. The park is The only lighted softball field in the community. It is also an ideal place for winter sledding. This used to be a school / park complex. It is no longer that. We are lucky to see this beautiful old building restored. My husband & son went to grade school here & I worked here, lot of memories.
