Behold Lake of the Woods, one of several alpine lakes in this region. To the north, a complex inside the Sky Lakes Wilderness contains several. And to the southeast, the Mountain Lakes wilderness hosts another complex of alpine water bodies. Lake of the Woods is the most accessible of the group, offering swimming and boating during the summer.
