This beach on the northern cap of Mauritius is quiet, small and magic. It is not the kind of beach with all white sand and umbrellas and sunbeds. What is typical for public beaches at Mauritius is that the local people come here to relax. And, they do not sit in the sand under the burning sun. They sit in the shade under the trees. They camp here, make food and have more like a picnic.
The Anse La Raie is a beautiful place to bring your loved ones. Bring along some food, something to drink. A blanket and towels for the swim in the warm sea. Then just stay here, enjoy the silence. When you finish your meal and want to do something else than swimming, go looking for the cache. It will bring you slighty of the most visited spot. There are some garbage washed on shore from the sea. What a shame, no one seems to bother, or will remove it. Well, just pass it, and you will discover an old colony house, ruins of it. It has been abandened for years. The cache is not inside the ruins but in its surroundings. This is not a place a tourist would normaly visit. Still we wanted to show you this place. Can you imagine what a beautiful place this must have been when it was tidy and clean here?
Please cover the box properly after your visit. Please put stones to cover the hole. And be aware, there is always a muggler around.
