The sanctuary dedicated to The Lady of Lourdes was built in the center of Verona, in 1908. The bombing of World War II destroyed the shrine, but remained unharmed, unique, the beautiful statue of the sculptor U. Zanoni. For the reconstruction of the Sanctuary was chosen an Austrian fortress of 1838 on a hill overlooking Verona, a place of sad memory for being during the Second World War prison and jail policy. The fortress of war and death in 1958 was transformed into a place of peace, prayer and reconciliation. Inside you can admire the paintings by Roman A. Del Vecchio. The right side chapel is dedicated to St. Gaspar Bertoni (1777 - 1853), founder of the Stigmatines.

Il Santuario dedicato alla Madonna di Lourdes fu costruito, nel centro di Verona, nel 1908. I bombardamenti della seconda guerra mondiale distrussero il Santuario, ma rimase illesa, unica, la bella statua dell’Immacolata, opera dello scultore U. Zanoni. Per la ricostruzione del Santuario fu scelto un fortilizio austriaco del 1838 sulla collina che domina Verona, un luogo di tristissima memoria per essere stato durante la seconda guerra mondiale carcere e prigione politica.
