Geocache Description:

This is a quick cache on a quiet backroad, but why not take a wander down to visit the Henge whilst you are here.

Please park in the nearby layby and not blocking the farmer's gate.

Bring your own pencil.

Pullyhour or Pulleyhour Henge is one of the most northerly on the British mainland. Dating from around 1500bc people are not entirely sure why this circular earthwork exist, and what role it played in Bronze Age Britain. The entrance was a small cutting in a bank, barely wide enough for one person to pass at a time. Who or what was being kept in or out? Even stranger is that at some future point, probably after 1200BC, the entrance was blocked up with stones and the posts over-turned. Congratulations to Aidipi on FTF.
