These caching events are intended to bring geocachers together in a creative way, as well as introduce others (newbies) to the hobby.
WHAT: World Wide Flash Mob XII
A fun and friendly way to promote geocaching around the world. Thousands of geocachers at dozens of coordinated events spanning the globe, gathering at the same time. Sonny and Sandy of the PodCacher podcast came up with the WWFM idea in 2007 after attending a mega-event. It was meant to be a fun “opposite” of a mega-event: all the cool aspects of a geocaching event, crammed into 15 minutes of excitement. An added dimension is represented by the letters "WW" - World Wide - these events occur across the planet on the same day at (mostly) the same time!
This year the guidelines have changed and events have to be 30min. minimum.
A Flash Mob is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, do something unusual for a brief period of time, and then quickly disperse.
There is no official theme this year.
WHEN: Saturday, June 13, 2015, 1:00 pm - 1:30pm
This Flash Mob is gathering of geocachers that will be 30 minutes long and will be happening the same time and date all over the world. Even Australia being 17 hours ahead of Pacific Daylight Savings Time will be holding their event simultaneously with the US event at 03:00 on Sunday morning for the fun of joining in with the worldwide geocaching family. You MUST be present DURING this time to claim this event because after 30 minutes…it's over!
WHERE: French Creek Metro Park, Pavilion 2.
Enter park on French Creek Rd. Follow signs to shelter 2 (stay right).
WHY: To have fun with your fellow geocachers, trade stories, possibly win a WWFM XII Geocoin, get a WWFM XII collectible item, etc.
Last year there were 792 events in 52 countries, attended by 27,188 participants!

Event plan: (30 minutes long!)
Not a rigid time line!
Until 1:00 PM : Get here early. Stay not far from, though not right at the posted coords, somewhere you can see GZ, and act like a muggle.
1:00 PM : Enjoy the fun spirit of the WWFM! Gather up quickly at the posted coords! Sign log sheet(optional), trade trackables and swap stories.
1:10 PM : Raffle time!!! You might win Official Commemorative WWFM XII Geocoin
1:20 PM : PHOTO time! Gather for group photo.
1:30 PM : Event Ends.
Event Notes:
NOTE: There will NOT be an official Geocaching.com Souvenir this year in 2015.
There will be a basket for Travel Bug exchange.
Plenty of nearby parking
After the event is over, plan to meet up with other geocachers later to spend a fun day caching! If you haven't been in this area before, there are quite a few caches in the near vicinity and many more within a few mile radius. Have fun!
We will have a number of WWFM XII Collectible items available to share with those attending. We ask that you be courteous and only ask for/take one (1) so that others may have the chance to receive one as well. Hope to see you all there!
