Geocache Description:

Join us for Trails Day 2015!

Come join us at Nevers Park in South Windsor. Trails are flat, wide and wind through young trees and brush so it is easy to keep your bearings. The park is home to a dog park, play ground, hiking trails, athletic fields, skateboard park and, of course, many geocaches.

Connecticut Trails Day is part of a larger, national effort aimed towards the use and promotion of our parks and trails. Last year an estimated 134,000 Americans participated in over 2,250 events! Many events will be held throughout Connecticut the weekend of June 7. For our part, The Central CT Cachers in conjunction with The South Windsor Walk & Wheel Ways and the SW Open Space Task Force would like to welcome new comers and seasoned geocachers to Nevers Park.

Come and learn about geocaching, a high tech game of hide and seek using a handheld GPSr to find hidden treasures in the outdoors. Geocaching is a fun hobby for all ages and walks of life. Caches are hidden throughout the world in many clever, scenic locations.

Demonstrations and information: 1 PM to 4 PM
Event will be canceled due to heavy rain or lightning.

Join us as we tell our tall geocaching tales. As is usual for CT this time of year, mosquitoes and ticks in parts of the park are out for blood. Dress appropriately and bring repellent. Make sure you do a tick check afterwards.
