Every great trail needs to have a few caches along the way. This trail is greatly improved and easy going. It is about a 2.5-3 mile hike up and there are currently several trees that are blown over and obstructing the trail. It is still passable. Notice how often the vegetation changes along your trek, sometimes it is different on either side of the trail. Bring your water and a lunch and enjoy the lake view and mountains surrounding the lake.
You will be looking for a Mega Bison that is "Wedged" in the crack of a tree. This crack has a hood and is hidden from all. The tree is located 2 steps off the trail so there is no hiding from the Muggles. Please be sure to wedge it securely back in place so the next cacher can enjoy the find also. There is a pencil, logbook and some small starter swag inside. Be sure to bring your bug spray in the warmer months. Enjoy the lake.
