The woodlands of Burrumbuttock once supported a great variety of native animals, but many are now disappearing or are gone from the area. Wirraminna is gradually re-vegetating parcels of land to provide food and shelter to local native birds, reptiles and animals.
One of these blocks is a little way along the Burrumbuttock - Brocklesby Road. A safe area to park your car is about 1km west from the intersection with Howlong Road.
As you walk through the woodlands and the Wirraminna gardens you will see a large number of nesting boxes catering for all creatures great and small - from Pardalotes to Possums - including Bats.
As you walk to the cache you will see many young trees that have been planted by volunteers. In years to come this will transform this location into a wonderful habitat for local wildlife.
Your are looking for a container hidden in a way that is in keeping with the environmental aims of the Wirraminna EEC.
In the summer months keep your eye out for snakes.
