If you look around in the summer you will see plants that you may or may not have see before. That's because as a trial garden we grow plants that may be brand new...not yet on the market. Or we may be growing plants in a different way, such as in containers, to see how well they do.
Seed companies and growers specify what they want, then they, along with nursery owners will come to see how plants grow in different situations. They use this information to decide which plants we will see in our stores in the future.
This year's cache is located not far from one of the test areas. So look around to see which plants you like, while looking for an unusual container that doesn't necessarily fit in with the surroundings. Happy hunting!
You will not need to enter or disturb any planting beds to locate and log caches in the garden. Garden caches are located along grassy or cement walks.
A cache in the MSU gardens will NEVER be located in a fake sprinkler, fake plant, or fake light fixture. Caches are placed with permission from the MSU garden staff, but will be removed if they are the cause of any damage. Caches may not be available during weddings.
Parking is now coin/credit card meters from 8am-6pm M-F. Parking is free after 6pm and on weekends. Parking is not available on home football game days.
