The Dean Farm Heritage Trails have been expanded to the east side of Murray Road, so we explored them and placed a few new caches. This one is a mini bison tube.
This is an area of transition in the forest, with mostly hardwoods below here and evergreens above. The lower area was probably kept open as pasture for a longer time. While walking here from Dean Farm 4, you may have noticed traces of old roads - perhaps for logging or for bringing out rocks from the ledges up higher.
