Jätemäki
Jätemäki on 65 metriä korkea täyttömäki Turun Luolavuoren kaupunginosassa.
Jätemäki on saanut kutsumanimensä paikalla aiemmin olleesta kaatopaikasta, joka perustettiin vuonna 1941. Turun kaupungin laajentuessa kaatopaikka lakkautettiin vuonna 1971 ja muutettiin maankaatopaikaksi. Tähän mennessä asutus oli ehtinyt levittyä jo hyvin lähelle kaatopaikkaa ja esimerkiksi moni Luolavuorentien pohjoispuolella sijaitsevista kerrostaloista on rakennettu 1960-luvun lopulla.
Vuonna 1987 hyväksyttiin suunnitelma alueen käytöstä ja maisemansuojelusta. Maankaatopaikka lakkautettiin, maisemoitiin ja Jätemäen huippu korotettiin nykyiseen korkeuteensa. Jätemäki onkin eteläisen Turun korkein kohta, josta aukeavat maisemat pitkälle ympäristöön.
Alueen luonnossa näkee ihmisen kädenjäljen selvästi. Kasvillisuus poikkeaa ympäröivistä metsämaista ja sitä hallitsevat nyt niityt ja pensaikot. Kivikkoisemmilta paikoilta saattaa löytyä onkaloita, jotka ovat peruja maankaatopaikka-ajalta ja saattavat johtaa hyvinkin syvälle maan uumeniin.
Jätemäki on suosittu ulkoilualue. Aluetta hallitsee vuonna 2018 perustettu frisbeegolf-rata, mutta mäellä harrastetaan myös lenkkeilyä ja maastopyöräilyä. Talvisin mäki soveltuu monenlaiseen mäenlaskuun. Niin ja onhan mäeltä löytynyt jo vuodesta 2003 saakka myös geokätkö (GCGFJQ, Luolavuori).
Jätemäen laelta löytyy myös jatulintarha, jonka Turun Ekonoominen Olutseura ja virolainen Hiidenmaan Kuninkaallisen Raittiiden Oluennautiskelijoiden Seura rakensivat yhteistyössä 17.9.2011. Rakennusvaiheessa kiviä oli käytössä niin runsaasti, että ylijääneistä kivistä pystytettiin intiaanien elämänkaari, joka symbolisoi aurinkoa.

Kätkön bogusnaatit vievät sinut Jätemäen huipulle, mistä avautuvat hulppeat näköalat yli kaupungin.
Etsi mäen laelta paikka, missä musta piippu peittää harmaan tornin ja ison "sienen" lakin oikea reuna kohtaa vaalean kirkontornin. Kohteet näkyvät hyvin paljaalla silmällä, mutta pimeys tai sankka sumu vaikeuttavat kohteiden havaitsemista. Kätkö sijaitsee tästä pisteestä 292 metriä suuntaan 112,5 astetta. Saat kätkön koordinaatit myös syöttämällä checkeriin alkupisteen koordinaatit. Onnea matkaan!

Jätemäki (Waste hill)
Jätemäki (Waste hill) is 65 meters high hill in Turku Luolavuori district.
Jätemäki has earned it’s nickname from a dump which was founded in 1941. As city of Turku expanded the dump was converted to a landfill in 1971. During that time the settlement had already spread very close to the area and, for example, many of apartment building on the northern side of Luolavuorentie were built in the late 1960s.
In 1987 a plan was made about use of the area and conservation of the landscape. The landfill area was abolished and landscaped, and top of the hill was heightened to the current height. Jätemäki is the highest point of southern Turku with uninterrupted view over the surrounding area.
The handprint of the human is still clearly visible in the nature of the area. The vegetation differs from the surrounding forest land and is dominated by grasslands and scrubs. Caverns may be found from rocky places. Those are a legacy of the landfill area and may reach very deep into the soil.
Jätemäki is popular area for outdoor sports. Area is dominated by disc golf course which was built 2018, but hill is also popular area for running and mountain biking. In the winter hill is suitable for all kind of sliding. There has been also a geocache since 2003 (GCGFJQ, Luolavuori).
From the top of the hill there can be found a troy town, which Economic Beer Society from Turku and Royal and Sober Hedonists of Beer from Hiiumaa, Estonia built in co-operation 17.9.2011. Since there were so many rocks they built also Indians lifespan, which symbolizes the sun.
Your task
The bogus coordinates of the cache will take you to the top of the Jätemäki with gorgeous views over the city.
Find a place from the top of the hill where the back pipe covers the grey tower and the right edge of the cap of the great ”mushroom” touches the blond church tower. The objects are easily visible to the bare eye, but the darkness or dense fog may affect the detection of the objects. The cache is located 292 meters in the direction of 112.5 degrees from this point. Good luck!
