Geocache Description:

京橋（きょうばし）は、広島市の京橋川にかかる道路橋。現存するものでは市内最古の鋼橋で、被爆橋梁の1つ。
コンクリートでコーティングしているため、一見すると鉄筋コンクリート橋だが鋼橋である。

Kyobashi (kyou bridge), the road bridge across the Kyobashi River of Hiroshima. In what is existing in the city's oldest steel bridge, one of the bombed bridges.
Coated with concrete, it's reinforced concrete bridge at first glance but are steel bridges.

1591年（天正19年）に木橋として架橋している。橋名の由来は、「京都へ続く橋」から命名された。
It is cross-linked as wooden bridge in 1591. Origin of the bridge name, was named from "the bridge that leads to Kyoto".

現在の鋼橋は1927年（昭和2年）に建設されたものである。
The current steel bridge is one that was built in 1927.

2011年（平成23年）、土木学会選奨土木遺産に選定された。
2011, and was selected to the Japan Society of Civil Engineers Encouragement civil engineering heritage.
