Swanson/Matt homestead on the Cranberry Marsh loop trail

This land was homesteaded by Eric and Eva Swanson from 1927 until 1964. They worked together on their trapline on the Canoe river. After Mr Swanson died Eva moved to Kamloops. From 1964 until 1969 John Matt and his wife Claudia lived there until the house burned down. The Swansons also built the corduroy road along this straight stretch of trail.
