Geocache Description:

This is the finale of the For the Birds Trail, for which you'll need to crack the simple code you've put together by keeping track of the letters and numbers in each of the 14 previous caches.  Be especially careful at this cache to replace everything as you found it--and be gentle, please!

A black bear was sighted near For the Birds: If Only You Were A Prothonotary (GC5WH0R) on 12-26-2018, so be especially careful along this trail. You could read Zekester's logs for Boxing Day Flash Mob VI (GC80Z4T) for more details. And you might want to read more about bear-safety online: Click here for link

Trails are open 7 days a week, sunrise to sunset, from February 16 through August 31.  From September 1 through February 15, the trails are CLOSED on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for the Cooperative Hunting Program.  Trails are completely closed for two weeks beginning the Saturday after Thanksgiving for Firearm Deer Season.  For a trail map, call 410-386-2103 or check http://carrollcountyequestriancouncil.org/TrailMaps/UnionMills.pdf

This hide is 1 of 14 on a trail that's, well, for the birds. Be sure to pick up all 14 alpha-numeric codes so that you can determine the coordinates for the 15th (bonus) cache. Most of the caches are within a few yards of trails in this little known Union Mills Trail Area, although some of the trails cross Big Pipe Creek, and you'll often be hiking in tall grass or mud--so dress accordingly and, in warm weather, use insect repellent and carry some water. As always, accept your limitations rather than risk injury just to sign a log: only YOU are responsible for what happens while geocaching. We STRONGLY recommend that you not attempt this series alone, not simply because you'll have more fun, but because you'll nearly double the distance of your hike if you don't use two cars. Park one at the parking area nearest Joyeux anniversaire, Phos4s (GC5KY3V) and another at the parking area nearest Sawmill (GCXJ1G). You'll be happier and less weary if you do. You'll probably want to allow about 3 hours if you're going for all 15 in one trip. By the way, if you enjoy birds at all, you owe it to yourself to tote your binocular and perhaps even your field guide. We very much hope you enjoy your hike and the challenges of these finds!

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.
