This geocache was placed as the last member of the Hill family moved out of our family home of ten years, at a location where a Daddy made a tree swing for his Daughters.
The caches original contents were collected from a Father and Daughter trip to Scotland, May 2015. Where we also picked up a trackable to bring home. (which included Dad's first geocaching experience)
This is not a normal little cache, you wont find it looking down or in the bushes ;) view the hint if you get stuck.
The cache is off of the road and through a hedge row, you do no need to climb down into "the pit". To enter the hedge row, walk up the hill from the layby and look carefully for the gap where two trees have formed into a sort of archway (can be well hidden in the summer months by leaves). If you're feeling adventurous you can climb through anywhere you see a gap, just watch the branches!
WARNING: please keep an eye on children and pets if you are geocaching with them. This is not a safe area, there is a steep(ish) drop into what we used to call "the pit", there are loads of brambles and odd bits of log you can trip on. Please stay safe and be careful! And look out for speeding tractors or locals as you cross the road.
This can be a cache and dash, but it's also a lovely area to have a stroll or walk the dog.
Please try and place as found (secure).
Happy caching!
(note: don't expect to play on a swing when you get here because it has long broken, but if you do want to play on a swing, go down to Manswood Play Area at the bottom of the road on the right. This road also boasts the longest row of thatch cottages in the UK, thirteen! And is home to a famous artist, if you're lucky you may spot some of her work in her garden.)
