We brought Scooter home from the SPCA the same time that we got Jabba. The funny thing is we went to the SPCA going specifically to look at Jabba but while we were waiting our turn for a private viewing I wandered around looking at the other cats and spotted this gem. I went and got my wife right away as I knew she has always wanted to have a "pretty boy". She fell in love right away, as did I.
Once in the private viewing room we saw Scooter to be a very curious and very active cat, while Jabba laid down on the bench and didn't move! We knew after a few minutes we'd be going home with two cats! The sad thing is Scooter was found as a stray, abandoned, undernourished and filthy. He was given a bath but his fur was so coated in dirt and grime, part of it was shaved off. We just don't understand how someone could abandon this sweet loving cat.
Scooter is very social, vocal and loves to cuddle. He will lie on my lap asleep as I watch TV and is usually at the back door waiting for me when I come home from work. He truly acts like a "pretty boy" as well. He whines a lot when we pet him the wrong way or move him off the couch....or rub his stomach....or generally anything he doesn't like....My wife likes to say he's a little bit psycho as one second your petting him and he's purring and the next he's biting your hand!
Fun fact about Scooter: the name the SPCA gave him was NEMO. We called him Scooter when we got home....He doesn't answer to either of them....
