Geocache Description:

It was happyheartcache who suggested this next in the Chase series of caches in her recent smiley log for Swan Chase, wherein she mentioned dodging one of these striking birds.  Well, I’m pretty sure she was encouraging me in our exchange of e-mails about this when she said “Don’t even THINK about it!”  Surely, what she meant was “Don’t wait to think about it – just do it!”

So I started studying these gorgeous blue works of art as they swooped around our feeders.  Did a bit of research as well.  Turns out, just like the others in the Chase series, these flyers have evolved a means of encoding directions.

I snapped the following picture just as an amorous male was signaling to his girlfriend the location for their next tryst.  Took a bit of study, but I think he’s encoded two multi-digit numbers.  My hunch is that if you subtract the first from the posted N decimal minutes and add the second to the posted W decimal minutes you’ll be led to the “nid caché” of a couple of lovebirds.(Could it be as easy as 255 162?)
