Geocache Description:

The Perambulation is a short walk through the village of Penketh, with 13 caches to find along the way. It takes in some of the history of Penketh, informing and entertaining along the way. If you start at Honiton Way Shops, there is ample free parking, and the route is circular, so you end up back where you started. The whole walk should take about 1.5 hours. You may need tweezers, and you will need your own pen for them all. And Number 7 may need an extra bit of kit...

After No.6, the suggested route is to cross the dual carriageway and head down Hall Nook - so called as it was originally the entrance drive to Penketh Hall, the original manor house and home of the dePenketh family from 1216 when the village was granted charter. The current Penketh Hall is the farmhouse at the bottom of the lane - not the original building, although the remains of this are believed to form part of the adjacent stable-block.

If this route is taken, you should pass Rosie's Cache, set by another local cacher, Shazza15. Although not part of the Perambulation series, it is worthy of a visit.

Continue along the picturesque Well Lane, looking out for the abundant wildlife as it follows Penketh Brook. Cache is about half-way along the lane. Specialist equipment would be useful here. A traditional city gents' brolly would be useful, a golfers brolly less so - can you handle the difference?
