Du Bonnet de Capelan
L’origine de l’occupation de Fréjus remonte sans doute au peuple celto-ligure (les Oxybiens) qui possédait le port naturel d’Ægytna (Agay). Des vestiges de murs de défense sont encore visibles dans l'Estérel sur le mont Auriasque ainsi qu’au Bonnet de Capelan. À cette époque, le paysage était différent, la Mer Méditerranée s’avançait de deux cents mètres dans les terres, la butte de Fréjus en était séparée par des marais, qui se prolongeaient jusqu’au confluent du Reyran et de l’Argens. Notre cache se situe au Bonnet du Capelan, ce sommet caractéristique d’une ancienne cheminée volcanique qui, suite à l’érosion naturelle a servi d’oppidum à nos ancêtres.
Un parcours semé d’indices à collecter vous occupera pendant 3 à 4 heures pour arriver enfin au sommet où votre quête ne sera pas tout à fait terminée : il faudra alors venir à bout d’une cache bien protégée… Je vous conseille fortement d'imprimer les infos suivantes, à bon entendeur…
La montée finale (et la redescente) sont pénibles pour les enfants de moins de 10 ans.
La cache a été beta-testée par The Coste Team dont vous trouverez 3 belles caches sur le parcours.
Première étape :
Découvrir quelques caches sur votre parcours et y relever des indices. (Il n’est pas obligatoire de découvrir les caches mais récupérez bien les indices demandés pour continuer l’aventure)
1/La Fontaine Rue Goujon GC58ET8 par "the coste team"
Noter les dates de la plaque "rue du docteur Stagnaro".
2/La Siagnole GC56R2R par "the coste team"
Noter la date d'inauguration de la fontaine.
3/L’Oratoire de Guérin GC56R1K par "the coste team"
Noter les dates de l'architecte-écrivain-musicien Harry Stuart Goodhart-Rendel.
4/Le rocher de Vulcan GC5JMDR par "bluesrock83"
Vous vous trouvez sous une ligne à haute tension, combien de fils électriques ?
5/Se diriger maintenant à : N 43° 28.173 E 6° 48.058Le parking se situe au bout d'une piste en terre de 1 km environ (attention aux véhicules surbaissés). Du 15 juin au 15 septembre vous devrez y aller à pied (+30mn) car l'accès est fermé.
Sur ce parking, une barrière interdit l’accès à la piste forestière, noter le nombre de traits rouges et le nombre de traits blancs de cette barrière. Maintenant, tout se passe à pied ou en vélo.
A gauche de cette barrière, empruntez le sentier balisé jaune qui vous mènera à :
6/Le Trésor de Gaspard de Besse GC1HMK5 par "ticaribou"
Noter le nombre de pierres qui forment l'escalier de montéeà l'îlot.
A savoir, à cet emplacement vous trouverez une Ciste (version française du geocaching) ainsi que la cache camouflage de ticaribou. Ne vous trompez pas si vous souhaitez enregistrer le logbook.
Deuxième étape :
Vous avez récolté suffisamment d’indices, les avez-vous bien notés ? Vous êtes maintenant en vue du Capelan, dirigez-vous vers lui.
L’accès étant difficile il est nécessaire de passer par : N 43° 28.434 E 6° 48.470
A ce point, grimper au pied de la falaise pour se rendre à : N 43° 28.508 E 6° 48.562
Contourner la falaise par la gauche et monter à l'oppidum : N 43° 28.519 E 6° 48.538
Puis se rendre aux coordonnées finales de la cache : N 43° 28.521 E 6° 48.558
Troisième étape :
Vous avez la cache dans les mains. Pour ouvrir la boite : ABCD en partant du haut.
A = centaine de l'année de naissance du Docteur Stagnaro (Fontaine Rue Goujon)
B = dizaine de l'année de naissance de Harry Stuart Goodhart-Rendel (Oratoire de Guérin)
C = nombre de traits blancs de la barrière.
D = nombre de marches pour monter au Trésor de Gaspard de Besse.
Quatrième étape :
Les consignes sont dans la boite, vous aurez bien évidemment besoin de E et F
Cinquième étape :
Vous n’avez plus qu’à laisser trace de votre passage : Logbook bien sûr, mais aussi Travel Bug, GeoCoin, petits objets… La cache est bien assez grande.
Merci de bien remettre en place, de procéder à l'entretien nécessaire qui vous est demandé dans les consignes.

Our cache is at the Bonnet du Capelan, this summit characteristic of an ancient volcanic chimney which, following the natural erosion was used as an oppidum by our ancestors.
A track full of clues to collect will keep you busy for 3 to 4 hours to finally reach the top where your quest will not be quite over : it will be necessary to overcome a well protected hiding place... I strongly advise you to print the following information, take my word for it... The final climb (and descent) are too hard for children under 10 years.
Good shoes and water are required!
Our adventure can also be an opportunity to make the series of 5 caches from Ticaribou : Bas Malpey 1 to 5. These caches are exactly on your way.
The cache has been tested (and validated!) By "The Coste Team" which you will find 3 excellent caches on the track.
First step:Discover some caches along your route and pick out some clues. (It is not necessary to discover the caches but you have to collect the clues required)

5 / Go now to: N 43° 28.173 E 6° 48.058and park there. Parking is at the end of a dirt track about 1 km long (beware lowered vehicles). From June 15 to September 15, you will have to walk (30 minutes +) because access is closed.
On this parking, a barrier prevents access to the forest track, please write down the number of red lines, and white lines of the barrier features. Now everything is on foot or by bike.
To the left of the barrier, take the yellow marked path that will lead you to :

Note the number of stones that form the stair up to the island. Namely, in this location you will find a Ciste (French version of geocaching) and the ticaribou camouflage cache. Don't make errors if you want to write on the logbook.
Second step:You have harvested enough tips, have you noted them down ? You are now opposite the Capelan, head towards him.

WP 2: At this point, climb to the foot of the cliff to get to : N 43 °28.508 E 6 ° 48.562
WP 3: Bypass the cliff to the left and climb up to the oppidum : N 43 °28.519 E 6 ° 48 538
Then get to the final cache coordinates : N 43 ° 28,521 E 6 ° 48.558
Third step:Take the cache in your hands. To open the box: ABCD from the top.
A = the hundredeth of the year of birth of Dr. Stagnaro (Rue Fontaine Goujon)
B = the tenth of the year of birth of Harry Stuart Goodhart-Rendel (Guérin Oratory)
C = number of white lines of the barrier.
D = number of steps to climb to Gaspard de Besse Treasury.
Step Four:The instructions are in the box, you'll obviously need E and F
Step Five:You just have to write on the Logbook of course, but you can also leave Travel Bug, Geocoin, small objects ... The cache is big enough. Thank you for putting in place properly. The necessary maintenance is required of you in the instructions.
