El Lugar
Este atractivo turístico-religioso de Tandil fue inaugurado el 12 de octubre de 2014. Se trata de una propuesta que integra en una única expresión la religiosidad, la naturaleza con sus sierras y la industria metalúrgica local.
El Cristo es un monumento de fundición, pintado en pintura acrílica especial color blanco. Es obra de Fernando “Tirso” Pavolini, quien estuvo a cargo del diseño de la imagen y el modelado de la escultura. Tiene unos 10 mts. de altura (15 mts. en total sumándole los 5 de su basamento) y 4,5 mts. de ancho (distancia entre sus brazos extendidos); y pesa unas 15 toneladas. La imagen muestra a un Cristo erguido mirando hacia la ciudad de Tandil, con su brazo izquierdo elevado y el derecho en señal de bendición.
En la cima, junto al Cristo, se puede apreciar una vista panorámica sin igual, con una visión de casi 360° especialmente pensada para aprovechar la amplitud e inmensidad del paisaje, incluyendo vistas de la ciudad, el Lago del Fuerte y las sierras.
También hay bancos para descansar (tomar un mate también) y apreciar el paisaje. El acceso es gratuito.
¿Cómo se llega? Se ingresa desde Av. Don Bosco por la calle Papa Francisco (hay carteles que indican el acceso) y a pocos metros se llega a la playa de estacionamiento, próximo al acceso al paseo.

How do you get? You enter from Av. Don Bosco by Pope Francis Street (there are signs indicating access) and a few meters you arrive at the parking lot, near the access to the beach.
