Mackay's Town hall in Sydney street was constructed in 1912 as an administration hub for Mackay Town Council. The building served this role until the construction of the Mackay Civic Centre in Gorden street in 1975.
The building features a small exhibition space upstairs. Opening hrs
Monday> 10am to 5pm
Tuesday to Friday> 9am to 5pm
Weekends> 9am to 12nooon
There is an oversized chess board layed out in the seating area and pieces can be borrowed by leaving a $20 deposit at the art gallery.
