Geocache Description:

This is a small lock & lock box located at the top of Barton Knob on Cheat Mountain.

Take US 250 to the top of Cheat Mountain, turn onto FR 227 and follow it south for 1.2 miles. This is a gravel road that isn't plowed during the winter months. There will be an access road on the left with a white gate. Park along the road opposite the gate and walk up this access road.

After hiking to the top of the access road, you come to a clearing with an old fire tower and newer cell phone tower. It's a little over 1/2 mile hike to the top and is fairly steep, with little shade in most spots.
