The 2015 CITO events and Earth Day got me thinking about making cache from found objects. The result was a challenge to myself:
- Create another lock themed cache for the series
- Make it some sort of field puzzle or something otherwise unusual
- Make it from 100% obtainium
What is obtainium? Obtainium is raw material which has been reused after it was thrown away, abandoned, or forgotten about. Use of obtainium is also a form of “upcycling” or resource conservation (reduce, reuse, recycle). Personally, I think that using found materials is interesting, I enjoy the creative process, and I save a few dollars along the way.
The walk along the Pathfinder Parkway to this cache is fun because you will go through two tunnels then go under a bridge. This cache will be harder for some people than others. Opening this cache does not require the use of force or any dis-assembly. If you find that you are breaking something then you are doing it wrong.
Don’t forget to lock yourself out again after you are done!
