This cache has been archived.

GlobeTrotters7701: I'm sorry to say that the cache has gone missing again after replacing it (yet again). It was only replaced on 23/10 and was gone on 31/10. I am archiving this cache due to the frequency of it being muggled. Thanks to those who took the time to visit this cache.

Geocache Description:

While many tourists and locals enjoy the BlueWater trail which winds its path down the city side of the river, this side of the river is enjoyed by the locals and more specifically those that like to fish.  The cache is located at a peaceful and shady spot, a place to relax and enjoy this beautiful blue river away from the hustle and bustle.  Two bridges can be seen from the rivers edge, the Ron Camm Bridge to the west and the Forgan or Forgan Smith Bridge to the east.

The Pioneer River is rumoured to be one of only three blue water rivers in Australia if not the Southern Hemisphere. It is 120 km in length and starts its journey from the Pinnacle Ranges and winds its way down to meet the Pacific Ocean at East Mackay. The Pioneer River experiences a tidal range of up to 6.4 metres and in February 2008 the river flooded when it reached 7m. History tells us that in 1958 it reached a whopping 9.14m. The river does not allow for navigation by larger vessels due to its many sandbanks located within a few kilometres upstream of the river mouth.

The cache is a plastic container approximately 1 litre with plenty of room for swaps.
