At the posted coordinates you will be standing in front of a structure consisting of pipe gate panels with a matching apron of pipe fence line. You are NOT going to use any part of the fence that actually parallels the road itself. Your framework of interest begins with the corner (end) posts nearest to the road, along the diagonal pipe fence line that meets up with the gate opening. The gates are included in these calculations. To reiterate, ignore the pipe FENCE sections that parallel and are next to the roadway.

Determine six digits (A B C D E F) using this structure

Look at the number of vertical posts starting at one corner (end) post all the way around and including both corner posts.
A equals the number of posts that have caps minus 2.
B equals the number of posts that are missing their caps.

C is the number of gate panels that span the opening.

D is the number of rails (horizontal bars) that make up the gate plus one.

E equals the number of rails that are designed into the fence

E equals the value of D minus A

ABC checksum is 8
DEF checksum is 14

To determine the final coordinates of the cache, substitute ABC for the North posted coordinates decimal portion. Substitute DEF for the West posted coordinates decimal portion.

Now you are ready to discover what else gets dropped at Coe in addition to the "forest droppings" location of this hide.

******** About Access to General Area of Cache Location ********

* Easiest access is by vehicle entering at Bell Station and driving in to the Dowdy Ranch. This is a long drive, on unpaved roads, with constant climbs and descents as you cross many ridges. This entrance is only open to vehicle on summer weekends when the Dowdy Ranch park office is manned by volunteers. You may hike or bike in from The Bell Station entrance when the gate is locked.

**Access for hiking, biking or equestrians may be determined by visiting the Henry W. Coe Park website. All options require many miles of travel through this "vertical" park (all ups and downs).

*** All access requires appropriate fees or passes.
