Home of the Annual Pine Mountain Ski Jumps This cache is off limits the week of ski jumps which is typically the beginning of February. Ski jumpers from around the world come here to jump off of the ten story high, man made jump. Go to http://www.kiwanisskiclub.com/ or http://www.pinemountainresort.com/skijump for more information about the event. Over 20,000 people come out each year to cheer on all jumpers during the two day event which is definitely a sight to see!
IMPORTANT: THIS MAY BE HIDDEN WELL BUT IS NOT IN A DANGEROUS SPOT. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO NEED TO CLIMB OVER ANY RAILINGS AND IT CAN BE REACHED SAFELY FROM WHERE YOU ARE STANDING WHEN YOU GET CLOSE TO CORDS. Please post pictures of your view! The summer is a very popular and high muggle time, but the winter and fall views are my favorite times to be here. There are two ways to reach the jump. 1) You can walk 500 steps up the hill from the parking lot at N3332 Pine Mountain Road, Iron Mountain, MI 2) Drive the back road to Memorial Park on Cedar Avenue, Iron Mountain, MI This cache is not for anyone afraid of heights. One must be in good physical condition to get to the cache. Although there are steps, they only go from the top to halfway down, so there is only one way to the cache: climbing up the front. *Since this is my first cache hidden and I'm not sure about the coordinates, please let me know your thoughts!*
