Opened in 1846, the Royal Botanic Gardens of Melbourne are internationally renowned gardens located near the centre of Melbourne, on the south bank of the Yarra River. There are 38 hectares of landscaped gardens consisting of a mix of native and exotic vegetation including over 10,000 individual species.

At no time do you have to leave the path to locate it. In fact it is an offence to interfere with the gardens, so just stay on the walkway and you will be fine.
