Geocache Description:

A wee cache at the Walker's Trail - a lovely footpath through the woods of Aberlour.

I recommend to visit the cache near St Margaret's Church Aberlour first and follow the wee path behind the church for the correct access to the Walker's Trail.

The lovely path is in the forest area behind a famous industrial complex here in Aberlour, you might have the fragance in your nose once you'll reach the site.

Aberlour is not just well known for the great Single Malt Whisky, but as home of the world famous Finest Shortbread bakery as well. Back in 1898 the twenty-one year old Joseph Walker started his own bakery and the ambition to make the finest shortbread in the world. To this day this family carry forward this tradition of baking the finest shortbreads, biscuits, cakes and oatcakes, using the founder's original recipes. This family business provides a lot of jobs for the area. Although numbers are changing it is said that Walkers Shortbread employ approximately 1000 permanent staff who are directly involved with the manufacture of the products. Each year around 650 additional staff are required on a seasonal basis to cope with peak production demands.
