Geocache Description:

Another Salem Area History Cache, read a little history on a sign, then solve for the final.

Salem is well known for its food packing history A good many of them were, and some still are, in West Salem. The Canneries busy did very well with the abundance of orchards and nearby fields of wheat, hops, berries and other crops in Polk County. Many long term Salem residents at some time either worked in the canneries or in the orchards or field picking the produce to be sent to the canneries.

This cache will take you to an interpretive sign in West Salem to learn a bit more about the Salem Cannery history. From there you will solve for the final cache location which is a nice walk away (or very short drive). Although I'd recommend the walk in daylight hours as the final is in the industrial area where the canneries were/are. Okay to find the final coordinates you need to find the answers to the following 6 questions.

The final will be N44 56.ABC and W123 03.DEF
