It is a historical place of the Meiji Restoration.
Here was a camp of the "Kihei-tai".

キャッシュにつられてつい来てしまいましたね？
何もないじゃん、と思いましたね？
この場所は、
慶応元年（１８６５）に拠点を吉田に移した奇兵隊が、
慶応３年（１８６７）８月から明治２年（１８６９）１１月の解散まで陣屋（本陣）を置いたところです。
４００人の隊士が厳しい規律に従って訓練に明け暮れました。
現在はただの農地のようになっており、高速道路が近いばかりですが、
現地には当時の間取り(配置図）を記した説明板があります。
目を閉じてあの時代をイメージしてみてください。
堤防のみが名残をとどめているようです。
