This cache got its name from the Washington Fire near Markleeville, CA. I placed the cache while the fire was raging just to the south and the sky was full of smoke. The most likely method of getting to this cache will require a 4x4 with ground clearance. There is some bushwhacking required after reaching the end of the road.

I've been Geocaching for 8 years and this is my first hide. So I wanted it to be a good one. I hope that those of you who find this cache stay and enjoy the location for a short while because that is the reason I hid it here. I spend a lot of time in Ash Canyon mountain biking so I knew this would be a prime location. (No, I don't mountain bike up this high.) The views are amazing from this elevation, and the scenery is awe inspiring. I certainly hope this cache brings someone up here who wouldn't have otherwise made the trip. And while you're up here, be sure to grab "A Bolder View" (GC3MV17), one of Puzzelman's few traditional caches.
