I've wanted to place a cache here for a while. I'm not sure what exactly drew me to this exact location this night, though. Maybe it was the sense of comfort I get when down here since I've made so many good memories with friends, including an old flame, down here. It brings me back to simpler times. I needed that on the night I hid this cache. I had been feeling ill all day, my six year old cat lost her battle with leukemia just hours earlier, and tornadoes ripped through the area (more specifically, right around where my boyfriend lives, 20 miles north of here) maybe a half an hour after I got home from placing this cache. It was nice to escape, even for just a few minutes.
The cache is named after the pretty little runt of a cat I loved from the moment I first held her when she was a kitten until the moment she took her last breath as I held her face and thanked her for being strong. I hope others experience the same calm that overcomes me when I go here.
There's plenty of parking available around the football stadium. The cache is in the wooded area behind the field—one of LP's best kept secrets. There is access to the trail closest to where I placed the cache off of Center Place just north of the intersection with 9th street. Little bushwhacking necessary. Happy caching :)
