This multi will take you through the different ranks of Boy Scouting. You don't need to be a Boy Scout to appreciate or be able to solve it. I've done my best to supply all information needed for you to answer the questions based on the 2016 requirements. At each waypoint along the Trail to Eagle you will be able to obtain a number which will be used to provide the coordinates to the final location of the Eagle rank cache (the highest rank in Scouting).
The goal of this cache is to help get people outdoors, have fun, get some exercise, and use technology all at the same time. I love the fact that Geocaching promotes all of these things and want to pass on to others the benefits.
You will have traveled about a half mile out and back. Note that you will pass or be near several Boy Scout Eagle projects that improved the area including one done by my son. Also, there are a couple of other caches to grab near by.
The cache is not at the above coordinates. Instead, the listed coordinates will take you to a beautiful place with parking near by. Go to the posted coordinates and look for the yellow tile above the 9/8 numbers that best matches which of these requirements to become a Scout and let that number = U
- 1. Show how to tie a square knot
- 2. Become familiar with your patrol name, emblem, flag, and yell
- 3. Demonstrate your knowledge of pocketknife safety
- 4. Describe the four steps of Boy Scout advancement
Proceed on to each of the other 5 waypoints on the Eagle Trail to obtain the rest of the numbers for V, W, X, Y and Z and then it will be time to do a little math to obtain the final coordinates to the Eagle rank cache.
