Geocache Description:

This is a 4 cache series, all small and camouflaged.  If you start at the Quince Tree car park head north past Stonor park, on your right, and 200 yards past the right turn to Turville Heath head left up the bridleway.  If the bridleway is too overgrown head out to the field on your left and walk up the left-hand side of the woods.  You'll find the first cache, a few yards of the woodland part, as you reach the top of the hill.

I'm lucky enough to play cricket at the beautiful Stonor ground, which nestles within a perfect Chiltern valley.  The ground sits opposite the Stonor deer park and imposing house.  We’ve often walked within the scenic deer park but spotted a cache-free area behind the ground and headed off with picnic and a series to hide.  The 4 mile circuit walk was challenging for the youngest in our party (4 & 3/4s) but the relatively long uphill trek was worth it for the gorgeous views you get of the cricket pitch and easy paths in the woods follow, for you to cool off.  Three of the four caches are hidden in the woods and should be easy to find.  The final cache is planted in a hedge between fields and again relatively straight forward to seek out.

This is a circuit suitable for young kids but I’d advise wearing trousers as brambles and nettles encroach a number of the paths.

For a drink at the end of your route head either to the pub in Pishill or Stonor.

This cache is part of a series of caches which are placed at or near Cricket Pitches and Pavillions. If you would like expand the series and place a cache of your own please request a number using the email bcfcjack06@gmail.com or message Aer72.
