Once upon a time there was a high school named William N. Neff High School located at: 14800 Alondra Blvd. La Mirada, CA 90638 This was a great school for students and staff alike. Unlike today's high school many classes were offered like auto shop, wood shop, metal shop, home economics (which included cooking, sewing, and check balancing), photography, drama, and many other options. Luckily, we had enough electives that I was able to take all of the classes I listed. While I was attending Junior High School it was noticed that there was a drop in population which meant less schools were needed. After attending first year at Benton Intermediate School, it was decided that all Junior High's would be closed. This meant that all eight graders will go to high school a year early and all seventh graders would be held back in elementary school. So this meant the class of 1983 would be the lower class for 2 years in a row. After attending 3 years in High School, a drop in Population was noticed again and this meant more schools would close. High schools were the target. After long fights by students, staff, and parents resulted in only two high schools would be closed (Neff and Excelsior). Sadly, Class of 1982 and 1983 were shipped off to our rival school, La Mirada High School, after three years of competing against each other. The class of 1982 was allow to graduate under the name of Neff High School but class of 1983 was not. We were told to move on. Class of 1983 was cheated out of our loyalty, placed in overcrowded schools, and made the lowest class for 2 years. For all we were asked to put up, we should have been able to keep the name of Neff High School. It will ways be in our heart. This cache is the nearest I could get to where the administration office was. Trojan Way was named after our Mascot, 'The Mighty Trojan'.
