Geocache Description:

The town of Maskell's claim to fame is this small (10'x12') Depression-era building, the smallest town hall in the United States. Please restrict your search to daylight hours, and do not disturb any council meetings in progress. It is also not necessary to disturb any greenery or plantings in the area.

The town hall has recently been renovated, and a small visitor's center is being added just to its north. (See this article from the Sioux City Journal for more information: http://siouxcityjournal.com/lifestyles/local/maskell-s-tiny-hall-site-eyes-improvement/article_b45f9232-fb76-54f3-94f0-45a3eb4e6ed0.html) The 6-member village council still holds regular meetings here. (Although, as a 2003 article in the LA Times noted, the space is so small that members "have to go outside to change their minds.")

This cache is placed with the knowledge and permission of one of the village council members.
