William Carlton Gardens was created in 2002 when the transport company of Meloy's was redeveloped. Meloy's was there for a hundred years, first using horse and drays, but by the time it was shut down in the 1990's the locals were not sad to see the large semitrailers exit the crowded innercity streets.
It provides a pleasant walk between Palmerston Ave and Avon Street connecting two other small parks. The gardens are named after a Labor politician who represented Glebe in the 1930s. The location is very close to Glebe Light Rail station, a nice transport option.
This cache is not suitable for those in a wheelchair as access to the park involves steps from most directions and the cache itself must be accessed by a ladder.
