This is one of our favorite places to hike with our son and dog for it's varied terrain. There are lots of different trails, so we can choose a length between a 20 minute or 2 hour hike. There's a great view of the Maryknoll seminary when you get near the cache site if you can see through the trees to the south, and a view of the river valley to the north from the little spur off the purple trail!
This past July we met up with some friends, introduced them to geocaching and hid our first one! We hid a large cammo box in the woods, wrote all over it, and put a whole bunch of fun swag inside to trade... Little did we know our hide was too close to another... Thanks to the original 'Nature's Behind' Crew for the company on the original hide, the decoration, and swaggin-up the original cache. I ended up retrieving it, cammo-ing it up a bit more, and re-hiding it! Includes a special handmade glow-in-the-dark "Boy7 FTF #001" collectible coin for the FTF!
So, where do you go when your first spot isn't approved? To the Top of the Ridge!
