Cloudland Canyon State Park sits on Lookout Mountain in the NW corner of the state of Georgia. There is a $5 daily entrance fee, unless you are a member of the Friends of Georgia State Parks!
This cache is an ammo box, placed along the nature loop; a spur trail off of the main Sitton's Gulch Trail; a delightful mostly flat creekside trail in a less-busy section of this wonderful state park! Because you are down in a canyon, GPS signal will bounce. Coordinates are averaged from 6 different readings, all within 15-22 feet. The cache is in a rock crevice along the short nature loop spur off of the main Sittons Gulch Trail. Be mindful that many creatures enjoy being near water and take usual precautions against snakes and poison ivy. Hiking stick and bug spray are highly recommended.
Placed with permission of the park manager and park naturalist. Please take care to understand the basic rules of geocaching in order to help keep the game enjoyable for all who participate. Please do not move or vandalize the container. Replace the cache like or better than you found it (exactly where you found it).
Sign the log book and leave it in the cache. If you want to take any of other items in the cache, they are there for trade; be sure to leave something of equal or greater value, but don't leave any kind of food items, or anything that is highly aromatic, which could attract critters/creatures/rodents/bugs!
This is such a lovely area and a quick walk so it is considered a 'lodge' for trading trackables, Travel Bugs (TBs), etc. If you do pick up an item with a six-character code on it, please be sure to log your find and 'Retrieve' the item on geocaching.com so the owner will know about its travels and adventures!

Please note you will drive through a residential area on your way to the well-marked parking area and trailhead. Please be respectful and do not park in driveways or along roads.
