Geocache Description:

Cache is located at the site of the Old Allouez Mine #2 shaft.  In 1869 The Allouez mining co started mining the side of Bumbletown hill.  They worked till the turn of the century, but were never very profitable.  The 3 mines processed comglomerate ore, the "red rock".  The company built a stampmill on Hill Creek to the north (see cache at that site)

The #1 shut down early (1877)   The 2/3 shared a hoisthouse, my sources say there is very minor ruins to be found, but I could not find them.
Note:  I have included a TrailHead... Use It.  It might seem easier to stop at the old RR line and bushwack uphill, but don't.  The old foundation by the TH is listed as Boiler/Pumphouse.

I'm giving this a 3.5 for terrain, but if you go the wrong way, it could be 4+

A hint, climb the rockpile as soon as you can as the walk on top is the easiest way to the cache.
