Binham Priory has long been dear to my family. My Father, Grandparents, Great Grandparents, Great Uncles and many family friends are laid to rest here. My father was born in Binham (Bunkers Hill) and my Grandmother lived in Priory Crescent. My sister was christened here and we were both bridesmaids for the wedding of our Aunt and Uncle here (many years ago). The family has now largely moved away (though some remain in Fakenham), but we bring our children back periodically to show them what a wonderful place this is.
It was on one of these holidays three years ago, whilst staying in Binham, that we all discovered geocaching. Our first ever geocache on 30/7/2012 was Fiddlers Hill GC10M24 (I remember my Dad telling us the story of the ghostly fiddle player and his dog). We went on to discover many more wonderful caches that first holiday - the fascinating Langham Dome trainer GC2V41B, and a Secret Place full of Magic GC1KDVC.....all of which we recommend.
There are many more caches now and we are all looking forward to the adventure when we visit this August.
We would love to meet any fellow geocachers - whether you are a local or on holiday. Come sign the log book, trade travel bugs and share experiences....and get your event souvenir for the roadtrip!!!
