This is a two-stage cache inspired by the award-winning, classic children's picture book by Eric Carle.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar was first published in 1969, and has sold over 30 million copies worldwide. It has been translated into at least 40 languages. In 2012, it was voted the second best children's picture book of all time. (Maurice Sendak's Where the Wild Things Are was #1 on that list.) We strongly recommend that you read the book before you try to get this cache. You can watch Eric Carle himself read the book on YouTube. Sadly, Eric Carle died on May 26, 2021. At the posted coordinates, you will find the coded coordinates for the actual cache. Beware of the thorn trees at this spot. Getting to the cache may require a bit of bush wacking, depending on the season. Do remember to bring your own pen. The difficulty of finding the final varies depending on the season. It may not be available in the winter, and is most difficult to find in the summer.
