Welcome to LMSP's first night cache! This cache's starting point is near campsite #66. You'll know you are on the right track for this night cache as you'll see the trail marked with single reflectors along the way. When you reach the final destiantion, there will be a line of 4 reflectors on a tree to indicate you've reached the location for the physical cache. To get back to the starting point, note double reflectors every so often on the way back (they will be in place shortly after original placement).
You'll walk along the Old Oak and the Hemerick Point Trail on this night cache. Most of the way, School Section Lake will be on the east side. As you walk along the trail, listen for the critters that call LMSP home. Some night/evening sounds you might hear include wood frogs, leopard frogs, loons and red-necked grebes. You may even hear a beaver slap the water if you are too noisey! When they feel threatened, they slap their large, flat tail as a warning signal. There is a beaver lodge in the bay, close to the trail you'll be walking.
We hope you enjoy this night cache and your time here in at LMSP. Please keep in mind the several other geocaches that have been placed here within the park. If you can't get to them all on one trip, we'll look forward to your retun!
If you have questions about the park, please stop in at the park office if no one is currently staffing the entrance station.
