Geocache Description:

This paticular Pill Box is of the type FW3/24 and was built on the site of a house owned by the Iletts and the lane was originally named after them, the house was built before the tunnel was dug and there was fears of collapse when the first line went through but the Iletts were adament they were not moving and even when the second line was added they still stayed put, eventually they all left and the house was pulled down.

The Pill Box was part of the GHQ Stop Line Green (The GHQ Line - green ran from the northern end of the Taunton Stop Line near Highbridge in Somerset, along the River Brue, across the Mendips from Wells and following the railway from Maesbury into the Wellow valley. This joined the GHQ line - blue which followed the Kennet and Avon Canal to Reading. The green line continued from Bradford-upon-Avon along the river to Malmesbury where it met the GHQ line - red), It is now quite overgrown but can still be seen and entered but I would not recommend it!!

The Pillbox Series - This is a series of caches set next to Pill boxes or other gun emplacements, if you wish to add to the series please place "Pillbox Series" somewhere in the name of your cache.

The cache is a small cliptop box in a cammo bag with a logbook and a couple of swaps, there is a small pullin suitable for one car right next to the gate next to the Pill Box and due to there being a wooden fence which should have a stile on but is missing this is not suitable for disabled people.

Well done to Drexl69 for FTF!!
