Geocache Description:

With a grateful nod to karlleif and BSA Pack 100 Cache,
this cache is placed with the help Marysville Parks & Recreation's 2015 Extreme Adventure Day Camp. After some thought, it was time to archive what had been here, and place something new for Marysville's Geocaching Community.

As the centerpiece of Marysville's extensive parks system, the green, rolling hillsides of Jennings Memorial Park provide a wonderful place - any time of season to stroll, picnic, play ball or admire the unique Allen Creek environs. This community park offers 30 acres of forest, wetlands and meandering trails that connect with Jennings Nature Park, playgrounds, ballfields, picnic areas and more. Jennings is also home to the Parks and Recreation Administrative Offices, and plays host to numerous year-round events including the annual Summer of Summer Concert Series, Popcorn in the Park Movies Series, Kiwanis Fishing Derby for kids and the Easter Egg Hunt.

This summer (2015), Marysville Parks & Recreation included geocaching as part of their weekly Day Camp, calling that week "Extreme Adventures". This cache is the result of the brief time we spent together. Although they were unable to be with me for the official hiding, these young geocachers joined me in discussing cache containers, cache placement, and safety while geocaching, among other things. (The following items have been temporarily removed and will be back soon. They also made signature items, which are included in this cache. Please leave them in the cache for other finders to enjoy.)

About This Cache:
  • The best route to this geocache is a short walk north from the Barn. Stick to the west side of the park, well above the Kiwanis Pond, walking along the upper east side of the park. Enjoy the little pond to the left of a fence shortly before ground zero. There are treasures in there. :) Maybe you'll be lucky enough to see the living ones.
  • You're looking for a small Lock 'n' Lock type container. Please keep an eye out for muggles, be gentle with the container, and replace it as found. A flashlight may be useful. If you don't see it, gently poke a finger or two in.
  • This is a small geocache - please keep swag and TBs small.
  • Make sure you make your mark on the log. Online "Found It!" logs will be deleted without warning if found without a corresponding mark on the cache's physical log.
  • Please let me know if there are issues with the coordinates or geocache.
  • Above all, enjoy yourselves and the park!
